NRM Education

Supporting education for sustainability.

NRM education is committed to an environmentally sustainable future. It believes that working with young people to improve their understanding and develop their capacity to take action is one of the best ways to achieve that.

NRM Education is funded by the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges Natural Resources Management Board, and the Central NRM Education team is hosted at KESAB environmental solutions.

NRM Education supports early learning centres, schools, TAFEs and Universities that are interested in exploring sustainability in their learning programs and management practices.

NRM Education staff work with schools across three key initiatives:

  • The Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative (AuSSI-SA)
  • Engaging with Nature – a hands-on program aimed at engaging young people in outdoor environments
  • A range of Youth Voice initiatives

They work in partnership with the Department for Education and Child Development (DECD) to implement the Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative-SA (AuSSI-SA). The AuSSI program is an internationally recognised, best-practice model guiding educational institutions in their exploration of sustainability.
