IntroductionThis element of the plastic bag reduction program provides a vehicle for students to develop and utilise enterprise skills, through an authentic environmental learning experience. There is scope within the program to integrate curriculum areas or expand on student interests and skills. It can be adapted for different year levels and student groups including:
- Whole-class or combined year levels
- Middle / Senior Years Integrated Studies
- Group skills training, cross-age collaboration
- Student Representative Councils or ‘Green Teams’
- Subject Areas: Business Studies, Earth Science & Environmental Studies, Community Development, Social Studies, Media & Communications, Applied Maths and the Arts.
Enterprise education is learning directed towards developing in children and young people those skills, competencies, understanding and attributes which equip them to be innovative and to identify, create, initiate and successfully manage personal, community, business and work opportunities, including working for themselves.
