Ross Collin John Swayne OAM
The commitment and contribution to KESAB and Tidy Towns by Ross Swayne for over three decades cannot be underestimated. For Ross it was not just about a pristine town and surrounding environment, but about better towns through building community capacity and resilience.
Ross firmly planted the KESAB brand in regional and rural South Australia as Tidy Towns Director travelling hundreds of thousands of kilometres to every corner and outpost of the State during annual judging and assessments, leading to keenly contested small, medium and large town recognition. Ross played an important role in developing and inaugurating the Keep Australia Beautiful National Tidy Towns Awards. A wealth of knowledge, local history and community environmental action Ross is a South Australian legend.
Brenton Curtis
Brenton was tragically killed in a cycling crash in October 2017. As an active KESAB Board Member representing the City of Unley, Brenton was a passionate environmentalist and greatly respected colleague in the local government sector.
Brenton commenced his career at the Highways Department, later moving to City of Tea Tree Gully and then City of Unley which ultimately led to his great interest and contribution in KESAB and election to KESAB Board where he guided and contributed to community environmental and water focused education projects.
