Road Watch

Road Watch is a joint initiative between KESAB environmental solutions and the Department of Transport, Energy and Infrastructure, encouraging community participation in roadside environmental care.

The program is in its 11th year and is based on the successful 'Adopt a Highway' program' which began in Texas, USA in 1984.

Community groups, schools, individuals and businesses participating in the program 'adopt' a section of road and carry out various activities including litter collection, and planting and maintenance of native vegetation.  Clean up reports are returned to KESAB, providing a snapshot of roadside litter issues across South Australia.

Road Watch activities are particularly significant given the large volumes of litter that occur on our roads and highways.
