About your waste collection system

The City of Port Adelaide Enfield provides all residents with a three-bin kerbside system for the separation of recyclables, organics and waste materials as well as a kitchen caddy to collect food scraps. The three bin system was introduced to allow residents to divert more materials from landfill.

Information on the waste and recycling bins can be found on the Port Adelaide Enfield main site. This microsite is dedicated to providing you with further information about food recycling.

The green organics bin, which has traditionally been used as a ‘garden organics’ only bin, is now used by Council to divert food scraps and other organics from landfill. This means that your food scraps, along with the other compostable items, can be placed in your green organics bin and will be turned into compost instead of going to landfill.

Visit the ‘Why compost?‘ and ‘What goes in my green organics bin?‘ sections of the website to find out more.
